Course Objectives

To understand the definition and application areas of preventive dentistry and to provide information at a level that will help with the applications to be made.

Course Content

The basic purposes of orthodontics in a general dentistry office. Different types of malocclusion in a model. Anomalies and simple appliance definition, explaining the treatment goals and possibilities to the patient. Occlusion (Class I, Class II, Class III cases), increasing work efficiency, capacity and ergonomic rules. Arrangement of the work area (Preparation of the treatment room, placement of the patient). Oral health rules, the importance of a well-groomed mouth. Prophylactic education of patients. Plaque staining, plaque elimination, prophylactic treatment.
