Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to enable students to acquire the skills necessary to perform basic leveling field surveys for the accurate determination of elevations, to calculate adjusted elevations for control points using survey data, and to evaluate relative accuracy levels. Additionally, the course aims to equip students with the ability to apply corrections and adjustments arising from coordinate system data, as well as distance and angle measurements, from an engineering perspective.

Course Content

The course content covers the fundamental concepts of surveying, surveying instruments, and field surveying methods. Leveling, distance and angle measurements, the basic elements of a map, and the calculations and corrections used in topographic map production are introduced. Furthermore, coordinate systems, the concept of datum, and current data collection techniques are evaluated from the perspective of rapid spatial data production and querying for engineering projects.
