Course Objectives

This course explores how culture influences human behavior, cognition, and emotions. We will examine the theoretical and empirical foundations of cross-cultural psychology, focusing on how psychological processes differ across diverse cultures and how culture interacts with psychological functioning.

Course Content

This course covers the basic principles, theoretical foundations, and research methodologies of cross-cultural psychology. Throughout the semester, students will explore how cultural factors influence perception, cognition, motivation, and emotion, while also examining how social behavior and interpersonal dynamics are shaped across different cultural contexts. Additionally, the course focuses on critically evaluating cross-cultural research and its global applications, ultimately highlighting the essential role culture plays in shaping psychological theories and applied practices.
