Course Objectives

This course aims to help students gain first aid and emergency care skills.

Course Content

This course covers the structure and functioning of the human body, basic life functions, and fundamental concepts of first aid, along with their importance in practice. It includes scene assessment, identification of case types, and precautions to be taken according to the type of case before emergency intervention. The course also addresses emergency case assessment and basic life support in detail. Topics such as injuries and wound care, initial interventions for bleeding, and first aid management of fractures, dislocations, sprains, and strains are included. In addition, first aid approaches for heat-related conditions, poisoning, altered levels of consciousness, drowning, and foreign body obstruction are discussed. Furthermore, the course includes patient transport techniques, bandaging applications, and the contents and proper use of first aid kits. By the end of the course, students are expected to acquire knowledge and practical skills in first aid and develop the ability to analyze emergency situations effectively.
