Course Objectives

This doctoral-level seminar aims to develop students' capacity to formulate original and researchable questions, critically synthesize advanced academic literature, construct theoretically grounded arguments, and design rigorous research. The course supports students in transforming an initial research interest into a coherent doctoral-level research proposal and in communicating and defending scholarly work before an academic audience. It also develops competencies in research ethics, academic integrity, responsible use of artificial intelligence, peer review, and scholarly communication.

Course Content

The course covers doctoral research orientation; identification and refinement of research problems; systematic and critical literature review; theory building and conceptual framework development; research philosophy and methodological choice; qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research design; research ethics and integrity; responsible use of AI in research; academic writing, argumentation, citation and publication practices; research proposal development; peer review; seminar presentation; academic discussion and defense.

Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence

Compliance with academic integrity and research ethics is mandatory. Students must appropriately acknowledge all sources and maintain transparency regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools. AI may support activities such as idea organization, language refinement, or exploratory analysis when permitted by the instructor; however, students remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, methodological validity, confidentiality, citations, and intellectual contribution of submitted work. Fabricated references, data, analyses, or undisclosed substitution of AI-generated work for the student's own scholarly contribution are not acceptable.
