Course Objectives

The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the necessary knowledge to plan medical nutrition treatment/diet in accordance with disease-specific nutrition principles.

Course Content

The content of this course is nutrition in gallbladder and pancreas diseases, nutrition in liver diseases, nutrition in kidney diseases, cancer and nutrition, nutrition in infectious diseases, nervous system diseases and nutrition, respiratory system diseases and nutrition, test diets, drug-food interactions, allergy and nutrition.

Prerequisites / Corequisites

Attendance requirements for BES 307 Nutrition Therapy and Applications in Diseases I course must be met (it must not have failed with an FX grade).
