Course Objectives

Mother and child nutrition (children of all ages, pregnant and lactating women nutrition, characteristics of breast milk, healthy infant nutrition, to provide information on the characteristics of formulas used in infant feeding, growth monitoring).

Child Nutrition in Turkey and in the World and Overview of Problems, Pregnancy physiology, problems, needs and nutrition, Lactation physiology, problems and requirements, Breast milk and its characteristics, breast milk applications during lactation, characteristics and requirements of 0-1 year old children, supplementary foods, baby foods and properties for 0-1 year old children, Nutrition and mental development, Preschool and school age child nutrition, adolescent nutrition, growth monitoring in all age groups

Learning Outcomes

Code Description
LO1 At the end of this course, students; They learn the principles of adequate and balanced nutrition so that the first and second risk groups of the society, especially children of all ages, pregnant and lactating women, starting from fetal life, can maintain their health.
LO2 They provide education for the society to become healthier in this direction.
LO3 They learn the correct and appropriate use of infant formulas, as well as therapeutically.
