Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to teach the design stages, application areas, types, indications and contraindications of all auxiliary equipment and orthosis used for treatment and / or as an aid to treatment during and after the rehabilitation process.

Course Content

This course includes the subjects of biomechanical principles of orthotics; pre and post orthotic assessment; orthoses used for various segments in the upper, lower limbs and spine; orthotic approach in various injuries, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders, post-operative care, congenital and acquired deformities; orthotic assessment and orthotic rehabilitation.

LO1 Applies the necessary evaluations before and after orthotic application in individuals with orthotic indications.
LO2 Analyzes appropriate approaches to orthotic rehabilitation and applies the orthosis.
LO3 Customizes the orthosis rehabilitation approaches according to the patient and the disease, plans and implements the treatment program that will increase the effectiveness of the orthosis.
LO4 Gives the necessary recommendations during the use of orthosis, analyzes and applies the importance and systematics of long-term monitoring of the patient.
