Course Objectives

To make the student adopt the normal pregnancy process and their own roles in this process in order to protect and improve maternal and fetal health.

Course Content

This course contents Anatomy and Physiology of the Reproductive System, Gametogenesis, Chromosome and Gene Anomalies, Formation of Pregnancy and Fetal Physiology, Physiology of the Mother During Pregnancy, Assessment of the Mother During Pregnancy, Evaluation of Fetal Health During Pregnancy, Preparation for Parenthood and Prenatal Care, Nutrition During Pregnancy, Psychosocial Aspects of Pregnancy, Pregnancy and Midwifery Care for Individuals with Special Needs, The Role of the Midwife in the Perinatal Period, Case Discussion.

Prerequisites / Corequisites

Taking EBE 101, EBE 104 courses is a prerequisite for this course.
