Course Objectives
This course aims to develop the skills and know-how for students to apply for jobs and to graduate programs. By gaining these skills, students will be equipped to more effectively conduct their job search and/or find the best match for graduate studies.
Course Content
The first objective of this course is to expose students to the the range of jobs available to students of political science and international relations. The course encompasses a series of seminars in which representatives from different sectors will introduce job opportunities in the field and address questions and concerns of students. In this class, students will be exposed to the resources available to them at ABU, and online, to more effectively locate job/school/scholarship opportunities. The second objective of this course is to develop the written and presentation skills necessary to succesfully complete a job or graduate school application. This includes learning how to write a curriculum vitae, a cover letter and a statement of purpose, and developing interview skills.
Academic Integrity and Artificial Intelligence
Violations of scholastic honesty include, but are not limited to cheating, plagiarizing, submitting exams and homework written by an AI tool, fabricating information or citations, facilitating acts of dishonesty by others, having unauthorized possession of examinations, submitting work of another person or work previously used without informing the instructor, or tampering with the academic work of other students. Any form of scholastic dishonesty is a serious academic violation and will result in a disciplinary action.
