Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide an understanding of ethical decision-making, moral responsibility, and corporate ethics within management processes. The course aims to develop students' skills in analyzing ethical dilemmas, conducting evaluations within the framework of various ethical theories (e.g., utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics), and critically assessing the social, organizational, and individual consequences of managerial decisions. Furthermore, the course intends to foster responsible managerial behavior in line with ethical leadership and corporate governance principles.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental concepts and application areas of management ethics. The content includes concepts of ethics and morality, ethical theories (utilitarianism, rights approach, justice approach, virtue ethics), individual ethical decision-making processes, ethical dilemmas in organizations, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, and ethical leadership. Additionally, ethical issues encountered in the business world (corruption, conflicts of interest, discrimination, information manipulation, etc.) are examined through case studies to enhance students' ethical decision-making competencies.

Prerequisites / Corequisites

There are no specific prerequisites for this course. However, students having a foundational knowledge of management and organization will contribute to a more effective understanding of the course material.
