Course Objectives

This course covers the basics of hygiene, disinfection, sterilization rules. It includes details of general topics such as infection, contagious diseases, injuries, disinfection and sterilization processes and steps.

Course Content

Basic concepts in infection control, Cross infection, Hand hygiene, Infection control, Infectious diseases and vaccination, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus infections, Contact isolation, Infection control in radiology, Cutting and piercing tool injuries, Error and unit preparation, Steps to be considered in dentistry clinics, Disinfection, disinfectants, Sterilization process, Central sterilization unit, Hospital/surgery cleaning, Medical waste
