Course Objectives

The aim is to provide students with the knowledge required to assist dentists at all stages of patient treatment in dental clinics and to teach these skills through practical applications.

Course Content

Infection control, chain of infection. Classification of microorganisms. The concept of asepsis, medical asepsis, and surgical asepsis. Sterilization and disinfection methods. Physical methods including boiling, pressurized steam, and dry heat. Chemical methods including gases, ethylene oxide gas, and the use and preparation of solutions for disinfection. Ergonomics and the body’s movement requirements. Patient education.
