Course Objectives

It is aimed to gain the ability to interpret the indications, contraindications, benefits and application methods of electrotherapeutic and electrophysical agents (iontophoresis, TENS, interferential currents, faradic stimulation, high voltage galvanic stimulation, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, electrical muscle stimulation, biofeedback, etc.) and electrophysiological responses of intact and injured peripheral nerves to support evidence-based physiotherapy and rehabilitation programme.

Course Content

To examine the electrophysical principles of electrotherapy, the responses of tissues to electrotherapy modes commonly used in physiotherapy, and to teach the mechanisms of action and application methods of low and medium frequency currents.
