Course Objectives

Taking a story in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (recording age, height, weight, work/game /school status, development, en-vironment, family history, medical history, functional status, activity level), observational analysis (skin color, skin integrity, scar tissue, edema presence), body structure, posture (dynamic, static, voluntary), anthropometric measurements, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, range of motion (passive, active, functional), coordination, assessment and interpreta-tion with basic measurement and evaluation methods It is aimed to gain competence.

Course Content

Patient history and general physiotherapy evaluations, basic principles of movement, posture analysis (anterior, lateral, posterior), shortness and flexibility tests, anthropometric measurements (circumference, length, diameter, and fat measurements), normal joint motion, and muscle strength evaluations.

Learning Outcomes

Code Description
LO1 To be able to take the stories of patients with different diagnoses, to define general problems about the patient and his/her disease.
LO2 Analyses the basic principles of movement and the importance of these principles in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
LO3 Defines posture analysis (anterior, lateral and posterior posture analysis) and analyses the postural disorders in healthy or disabled people.
LO4 Applies shortness and flexibility tests and evaluation.
LO5 Performs anthropometric measurements (circumference, length, diameter, and skinfold measurements).
LO6 Analyses the ability to evaluate range of motion.
LO7 Makes muscle strength measurement.
