About the Program
Antalya Science University (ABU) Department of Psychology was established in 2019 and awarded its first graduates in 2023. The language of instruction is 100% English, offering students a program enriched with courses from various fields of psychology. The Department of Psychology has included core subfield courses such as Clinical Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Learning Psychology, Cognitive and Experimental Psychology, as well as various elective courses from other subfields in its curriculum. During the first two years of their education, students mainly take basic courses, compulsory courses in various subfields, and methodological courses such as research and statistics. From the third year onwards, with an increase in the number of elective courses, they take compulsory and mostly elective courses that will enhance their knowledge and skills in their areas of interest. The Psychology Department also has two research laboratories.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted to the Psychology Department through the university entrance examinations organized annually by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Admissions are made based on the Equal Weight score type, taking into account the previous year’s base scores and submitted preferences. The provisions of the ‘Antalya Bilim University Associate and Bachelor's Degree Education and Training Regulations’ are applied. For the admission and registration of international students, the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the University Senate are applied in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to the department through central placement conducted by ÖSYM, as well as through inter-institutional transfers (domestic and international) based on academic achievement, intra-institutional transfers based on academic achievement, and inter- and intra-institutional transfers based on central placement scores. Students admitted to our department may request that the courses they have successfully completed in their previously enrolled undergraduate or associate degree programs be transferred and adapted to our department’s curriculum before completing their registration. This request must be submitted through a petition addressed to the Faculty Dean’s Office at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will start studying in the department, after completing the English preparatory program, if required. The student must attach the original approved transcript to the petition. The course adaptation process is carried out within the framework of the principles set by the Board of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, and the commissions appointed by the Board. For students transferring from domestic institutions to our university, both intra-institutional and inter-institutional course adaptation procedures take into account course contents and ECTS credit loads. For international transfer systems, in addition to these principles, course and program equivalencies are also considered, and adaptation procedures are evaluated separately to the extent that they are compatible with psychology education. In evaluating adaptation requests from students who enroll in our faculty through international inter-institutional transfer, it is essential that the courses taken domestically and/or internationally be compatible with the program learning outcomes determined in accordance with national qualifications in the field.

Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
At our university, examinations consist of midterm exams, final exams, make-up exams, exemption exams, supplementary exams, and single-course exams. Examinations are conducted according to the schedule prepared and announced by our faculty. Students are required to present their student ID cards in order to take the exams. Students' academic standing is determined at the end of each semester by calculating their grade point averages. Starting from the end of the second semester, students with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or above are considered successful, while students with a cumulative grade point average of 1.99 or below are considered academically insufficient. Students who fail a course in the program curriculum are required to retake it in the first semester it is offered again. Students cannot graduate unless they successfully complete all failed courses, even if all other graduation requirements have been met. A midterm exam is held in the 8th week of the semester in which a course in the undergraduate program curriculum is offered. Each course has at least one midterm exam per semester, or assignments, projects, and similar coursework conducted during the semester may, at the discretion of the course instructor, be used in place of a midterm exam. A final exam is held at the end of the semester in which the course is taught, within the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible to take the final exam, students must meet the attendance requirement of at least 70 percent. Graduation Requirements
In accordance with Article 40 of our university’s Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations, students who successfully complete all courses included in the curriculum of our faculty, achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and are determined to have earned a minimum of 240 ECTS credits, are entitled to receive a bachelor’s degree from our department.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
After earning a bachelor’s degree, graduates of the Psychology Department who wish to continue their education at the postgraduate level may enroll in graduate programs and apply to master’s and doctoral programs, provided that they meet the requirements set by each institute, including minimum grade point average, foreign language proficiency, ALES scores, and other exam qualifications.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Our graduates, who earn the title of "Psychologist," have the opportunity to work in hospitals, universities, private counseling centers, community mental health centers, special education centers, childcare institutions, daycare centers and nursing homes, primary and secondary education institutions, child and family courts, prisons and juvenile detention centers, psychotechnical assessment centers, human resources departments, non-governmental organizations, mass communication-related institutions, public opinion research centers, and various government ministries. Graduates who continue their education at the postgraduate level have opportunities for employment in various academic positions at universities.
