About the Program
Established within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, the Department of Business Administration began its academic journey in the 2012-2013 academic year. Aiming for international standards since its foundation, the Department set its language of instruction as 100% English, embarking on its path with a vision fully integrated into the global business world. Embracing the mission of cultivating leaders with a global perspective who can respond to the dynamic demands of the business world, the Department is built upon a holistic curriculum encompassing all disciplines of business science. Within this program, students receive in-depth education across all core areas, including marketing, consumer behavior and brand management; finance, accounting and strategic financial reporting; human resources, talent management and organizational development; production and operations management, efficiency and process design; management, organization, strategic planning and leadership; quantitative methods, decision-making processes and data analytics; and business ethics, law and social responsibility. Combining theoretical depth with the development of practical application skills, this structure offers students a personalized learning experience tailored to their career goals through a broad range of elective courses.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Within the scope of the university entrance examinations organized annually by ÖSYM, students are admitted to the Business Administration program based on the EA (Equal Weight) score type. Pursuant to Article 5 of our University's Associate and Undergraduate Education and Instruction Regulations, in order to complete final registration at the University, a candidate must have been placed in a diploma program of the University as a result of the central placement examinations organized by ÖSYM, have succeeded in a special aptitude examination, or have had their lateral (horizontal) transfer application accepted. For the admission and registration of international students, the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Senate are applied within the framework of the relevant legislative provisions.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to our department through central placement examinations conducted by ÖSYM, the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS), inter-institutional horizontal transfer based on academic merit (both domestic and international), intra-institutional horizontal transfer based on academic merit, and horizontal transfer via central placement scores (Annex-1).Students who are admitted may request the recognition and transfer of credits for courses successfully completed in their previous undergraduate or associate degree programs prior to formal registration. This request must be submitted via a formal petition to the Office of the Dean at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will commence their studies at the Faculty—following the completion of the English Preparatory School, if applicable. The student must attach the original copy of an official, certified transcript to their petition.The adaptation and credit transfer process is carried out in accordance with the principles established by the departmental commission. During this process, course descriptions, syllabi, and ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) workloads are strictly taken into consideration. In the evaluation of adaptation requests from students admitted through international inter-institutional horizontal transfer, the primary criterion is the alignment of the courses taken domestically or abroad with the program competencies defined in accordance with the national qualifications in the relevant field.
Program Educational Objectives
The program educational objectives of the Business Administration department have been defined as seven program educational objectives:
PEO1: Our graduates will serve as middle- and senior-level managers in national and international companies, making corporate decisions with regard to strategic planning, organizational performance management, and global business dynamics.
PEO2: Our graduates will establish their own ventures or work in corporate innovation units, designing sustainable business models, improving resource efficiency, and contributing to economic development.
PEO3: Our graduates will serve as financial analysts or accounting specialists in banks, auditing firms, or the accounting/finance departments of companies, interpreting financial statements, ensuring cost control, and supporting managerial decisions with financial data.
PEO4: Our graduates will continue to graduate programs to become researchers or academics, producing original knowledge in the field of business administration through scientific research methods and generating publishable findings.
PEO5: Our graduates will serve as business analysts in financial institutions, consulting firms, or operations departments, producing solutions to complex business problems using data science tools and quantitative methods.
PEO6: Our graduates will serve as human resources specialists in private sector companies or human resources consulting firms, designing and managing recruitment, performance management, and talent development processes in alignment with the organization's strategic goals
PEO7: Our graduates will serve as marketing specialists or brand managers in the retail, tourism, or consumer goods sectors, conducting market research, translating customer insights into strategy, and growing corporate brand value.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
In our department, achievement assessment is carried out through midterm exams, end-of-semester (final) exams, resit (make-up completion) exams, make-up exams, exemption exams, supplementary exams, and single-course exams. All exams are conducted in accordance with the exam schedule prepared and announced by the Dean's Office of the Faculty. Students are required to present their valid student ID cards when taking exams.
Midterm Exam: These are assessments conducted during the semester. At least one midterm exam is held for each course throughout the semester. At the discretion of the course instructor, in-semester assignments, projects, presentations, and similar activities may be included in the assessment either in place of the midterm exam or as a contribution to the midterm grade.
Final Exam: This is the exam held at the end of the semester in which the course is taught, on the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible to take the final exam of a course, the student must have fulfilled the requirement of at least 70% attendance in the relevant course.
Make-Up Exam: This is the exam held for students who have failed as a result of the final exams (i.e., received a letter grade such as FF or FD) or who were entitled to take the final exam but were unable to attend. In addition, students wishing to raise their letter grade may take the resit exam within the framework of the relevant legislation. The grade obtained from the resit exam replaces the end-of-semester (final) exam grade for that course.
Students' course achievement statuses are determined based on the following letter grade and coefficient scale, in accordance with our University's Associate and Bachelor's Degree Education and Training Regulations:

Graduation Requirements
In accordance with Article 40 of the University’s Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education and Examination Regulations, students who are determined to have successfully completed all courses within the departmental curriculum, maintained a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00, and attained a minimum total of 240 ECTS credits shall be entitled to receive an undergraduate diploma from our department.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Upon being entitled to receive an undergraduate degree, graduates of the Department of Business Administration may pursue postgraduate education, provided they meet the specific requirements established by the respective graduate schools (institutes). These requirements typically include attaining the designated cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA), demonstrating the required foreign language proficiency, and successfully completing the ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) or other equivalent standardized examinations. Furthermore, several of our students have been awarded scholarships for admission to doctoral and master’s programs abroad. To support these academic aspirations, our faculty members provide comprehensive guidance and academic counseling services for students seeking international graduate opportunities.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Upon graduation, our students are equipped to assume various roles in all types of business enterprises and possess the potential to advance into executive management positions. They are qualified to work in functional areas such as marketing, international trade, accounting, and human resources. Furthermore, by fulfilling the requisite examinations and procedures mandated by relevant authorities, our graduates may pursue professional careers as customs consultants or certified public accountants. They are also eligible to serve as civil servants in public institutions that require a degree from a Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, provided they succeed in the competitive state examinations. Graduates of our Business Administration department are capable of operating across all sectors and business fields, performing the essential functions necessary for the sustainability of an organization. They may also pursue entrepreneurship by establishing their own ventures. Moreover, utilizing the knowledge and experience gained from our research-oriented courses, those who aspire to become academicians may continue their education through postgraduate programs.
