About the Program
The Medical Imaging Techniques Program aims to develop well-equipped healthcare technicians capable of professionally managing advanced technology devices that play a key role in modern diagnosis and comprehensive treatment. Throughout their education, our students master fundamental sciences such as anatomy and radiation physics, as well as the working principles of vital systems like X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), both theoretically and practically. Our program instills a high sense of responsibility not only in technical solutions but also in social ethics, including distribution, emission safety, and patient rights. With comprehensive clinical internships and applied course programs, our education provides our graduates with the privilege of becoming sought-after specialists in the healthcare sector. Graduates of this program find ample job opportunities in the imaging departments of both public and private healthcare services, becoming an indispensable part of the healthcare system.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted to the Medical Imaging Techniques Program based on their TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) scores from the university entrance exams administered annually by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center), using the previous year's minimum scores as a basis for their preferences.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Admission to our program is through central placement by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center), domestic and international inter-institutional transfer based on academic achievement, and inter-institutional and intra-institutional transfer based on central placement scores.Students accepted to the Medical Imaging Techniques Program may request that courses successfully completed in their previous undergraduate or associate degree programs be adapted to our program's curriculum before enrollment. This request is made by submitting a petition to the School of Health Professions at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will begin their studies. The student must attach an original certified transcript to their petition. The adaptation process is carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Board of Directors of the School of Health Professions and the committees it appoints. Course content and ECTS credit load are considered during the adaptation process.
Program Educational Objectives
The Medical Imaging Techniques Program has adopted the following fundamental educational objectives to train qualified human resources needed by the healthcare sector:Professional Competence and Technical Skills: To ensure that students possess the skills to operate advanced technology devices used in different imaging modalities such as radiology, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, and radiotherapy, in accordance with international quality standards.Patient and Employee Safety: To train professionals who fully implement radiation safety and protection protocols (ALARA principle) within the framework of working principles with ionizing radiation, and who are committed to patient rights and privacy.Analytical and Ethical Approach: To create a graduate profile that can manage quality control processes in diagnostic imaging processes, integrate medical ethical values into clinical practice processes, and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.Lifelong Learning and Adaptation: To graduate competent technicians who can adapt to rapidly developing medical technology and digital radiography systems, maintain scientific currency, and reflect sectoral innovations in their professional practice.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
Exams at our university consist of midterm exams, final exams, make-up exams, exemption exams, supplementary exams, and single-course exams. Exams are conducted according to the program prepared and announced by the Vocational School of Health Services. Student ID cards must be presented to enter the exams. Our university does not have a make-up exam system; however, a summer school program is available.A midterm exam is an exam given during the semester in which a course is taught within the curriculum of the associate degree program at the Vocational School of Health Services. Each course has at least one midterm exam per semester, or assignments, projects, and similar work done in the course may be used in place of a midterm exam at the discretion of the course instructor. A final exam is held at the end of the semester in which the course is taught, within the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible to take final exams, students must have completed 70% of the courses.Our students' academic proficiency is determined by calculating their grade point averages at the end of each semester. From the end of the second semester onwards, students with a general grade point average of 2.00 and above are considered successful; those with a grade point average of 1.99 and below are considered academically insufficient. Students who fail a course in the program curriculum must retake that course in the first semester it is offered. Even if all other graduation requirements are met, a student cannot graduate unless they have completed the failed course.

Graduation Requirements
According to Article 40 of our University's Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations, a student is entitled to receive an associate degree from the relevant program if they successfully complete all courses included in the curriculum of the program in which they are enrolled, have a general grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and have completed a total of at least 120 ECTS credits.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Graduates of the Medical Imaging Techniques Program have the opportunity to transfer to undergraduate programs announced by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) through a vertical transfer exam.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of Medical Imaging Techniques have employment opportunities in the Radiology (conventional and digital radiology, fluoroscopy, positron emission tomography, computed tomography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, angiography, mammography), Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy departments of state, university, and private hospitals and medical centers, as well as private imaging centers.
