About the Program
The Faculty of Dentistry at Antalya Bilim University was established when the decision of the Council of Higher Education was published in the Official Gazette dated 24.06.2019, numbered 1157, by the Presidency, and it began its educational activities in the 2020–2021 academic year. Undergraduate education at the Faculty of Dentistry of Antalya Bilim University lasts a total of 5 years: the first 3 years consist of preclinical basic education, and from the 4th year onward the program mainly focuses on clinical education. Basic Medical Sciences courses and Dentistry courses are delivered based on a committee system, thereby ensuring horizontal and vertical integration of different disciplines under main topics. In the preclinical application laboratories, there is infrastructure that supports education both physically and technically. In our phantom laboratory, a single phantom model is provided for each student, aiming to maximize each student’s practical experience during the preclinical period and prepare them for clinical practice. In the 4th and 5th years, through integrated clinical practice, students learn patient treatment services under the supervision of faculty members. Clinical training is supported not only with standard clinical equipment but also with technological infrastructure at world standards such as dental microscopes, rotary systems, and CAD/CAM systems.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted to the Faculty of Dentistry within the scope of the university entrance exams organized annually by ÖSYM, by making preferences based on the previous year’s base scores, provided that they exceed the 80,000 ranking threshold in the SAY score type.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to our faculty through central placement conducted by ÖSYM, inter-institutional transfers within the country and abroad with a success requirement, inter-institutional and intra-institutional transfers based on central placement scores.Students admitted to our faculty may request, before enrollment, that the courses they have successfully completed in the undergraduate or associate degree programs in which they are currently registered be adapted to our faculty’s course curriculum. This request is made by submitting a petition to the Faculty Dean’s Office at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will begin their studies. The student making the request must attach the original of an approved grade transcript to their petition. Program Educational Objectives
1. Has the knowledge and competence required by the profession regarding all basic medical sciences, has acquired up-to-date knowledge of clinical and communication sciences, and applies them throughout their entire professional life.2. Has knowledge about the condition, function, and development of the teeth, periodontal tissues, jaws, and joints in the oral cavity. Defines the causes and mechanisms of formation of oral, dental, and jaw diseases, the findings they produce, structural and functional disorders, and how they affect the organism. Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
In our faculty, exams consist of a midterm exam, final exam, make-up exam (for valid excuses), resit exam, and single-course exam. Exams are conducted according to the schedule prepared and announced by our faculty. Presenting student ID cards is mandatory to take the exams. The midterm exam is an exam held within the semester in which a course included in our faculty’s undergraduate program curriculum is taught. Each course has at least one midterm exam per semester, or assignments, projects, and similar coursework conducted during the course may, at the discretion of the course instructor, be used in place of a midterm exam. The final exam is held at the end of the semester in which the course is taught, and for annual courses, at the end of the academic year, within the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible to take the final exams, it is necessary to fulfill the 70% attendance requirement for the courses. The effect of midterm and final exams on the passing grade is announced at the beginning of the academic year. A class-passing system is applied in the faculty. Students who fail repeat that class. The courses to be taken by students who will repeat a class are determined by the Faculty Administrative Board before the start of the academic year.

Graduation Requirements
Pursuant to Article 40 of our University’s Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education and Examination Regulation, if the relevant student successfully completes all courses in the curriculum of the program in which they are enrolled, has a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and has completed a total of at least 300 ECTS credits, the student becomes entitled to receive a bachelor’s degree diploma from the relevant program.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Students who will graduate from the Faculty of Dentistry with a bachelor's degree may continue to postgraduate education if they wish to pursue further studies, provided that they meet the requirements such as the grade point average set by each institute, foreign language proficiency, ALES, and other examination qualifications required to participate in the relevant programs.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry can work as dentists in the Ministry of Health, in the health units of some public and private sector institutions, or independently in their own private clinics. By taking the DUS (Dentistry Specialization Examination), they can specialize by completing their specialist training in the departments of the Faculties of Dentistry for which they qualify, and according to their achievements they can gain the right to pursue an academic career.
