About the Program
Antalya Bilim University is the second university established in Antalya and the first foundation university, founded by the Resmî Gazete decision dated 21 July 2010. The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design began its educational activities in the 2016–2017 academic year.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted to the program through the university entrance examinations organized annually by the OSYM. Applicants are required to list the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design among their preferences, based on the previous year’s base scores in the EA score type. General admission requirements are specified on the university’s website.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to the department through the centralized placement conducted by the OSYM, as well as through inter-institutional horizontal transfers (both domestic and international) based on academic achievement, transfers based on central placement scores, and internal transfers within the university. Before enrolling in the department, students who have previously been registered in an undergraduate or associate degree program may request the recognition and adaptation of the courses they have successfully completed to the curriculum of our department. This request must be submitted to the Faculty Dean’s Office at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will commence their studies in the department, after completing the English Preparatory Class if required. The request must be made through a written petition and must include the original certified transcript (official grade report). The course adaptation process is carried out in accordance with the principles determined by the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture and the commissions appointed by the board. During adaptation process, course contents and the ECTS workload are taken into consideration.
Program Educational Objectives
1- Graduates should contribute to professional life as designers who can develop aesthetic, functional, and sustainable spatial solutions that center on human experience in the fields of interior architecture and environmental design. 2- Graduates should be able to produce creative and applicable solutions to complex spatial problems by using a holistic approach to the design process, material knowledge, building systems, and environmental comfort principles. 3- Graduates should be professionals who can collaborate with different disciplines, communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and visually, and have the competence to work in national and international environments. 4- Graduates should continue their professional practice as designers who are committed to professional ethics, sensitive to cultural heritage and environmental values, and have a sense of social responsibility. 5- Graduates should be individuals who follow technological developments, think critically, and continue their professional development by adopting a lifelong learning approach.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
In this program, various assessment methods are employed, including midterm examinations, assignments, exercises, projects, and final examinations. Evaluation methods may include written exams, multiple-choice exams, homework, performance assessment, and product evaluation. In order to be eligible to take the final examinations, students must fulfill the attendance requirements of 80% for practical courses and 70% for theoretical courses. To graduate from the program, students must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00. The final grade for a course is determined based on the evaluation of the aforementioned components and is assigned as a letter grade. Letter grades and their corresponding coefficients are specified below. In the design courses offered by the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, in accordance with the relevant departmental regulations, students who receive a score below the minimum passing grade of 50 are considered unsuccessful, as stipulated in the relevant article of the regulation. Such students are required to retake the course in the next semester in which it is offered.

Graduation Requirements
Pursuant to Article 40 of the Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations of Antalya Bilim University, a student becomes eligible to receive a Bachelor’s degree from the relevant program if they successfully complete all courses in the curriculum of the program in which they are enrolled, achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00, and complete at least 240 ECTS credits in total.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Students graduating from the program with a Bachelor’s degree may continue their education in graduate programs and may also apply to proficiency in art programs.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Program may work in interior architecture and architecture offices, public institutions, construction companies, and in the fields of materials and furniture, media, and advertising, or else pursue independent professional practice as interior architects and environmental designers. Students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Antalya Bilim University will also have the opportunity to work in the international arena, supported by their education in a foreign language and the global perspective they acquire during their studies.
