About the Program
Physiotherapy and rehabilitation (thesis-turkish) master course began admitting students in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Master’s Program (Thesis), offered in Turkish, admits students in both the fall and spring semesters, as the curriculum is structured on a semester-based system.Applications can be submitted online through the website of the Graduate School (Institute of Graduate Education) or in person. Applicants are required to submit the following documents:Required Application Documents• Bachelor’s Degree Diploma or Graduation CertificateApplicants must be graduates of four-year undergraduate programs in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from:Faculties of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation,Faculties of Health Sciences (Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation),Schools of Health (Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation / Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation), orSchools of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.Only candidates who have obtained the title of Physiotherapist are eligible to apply.Turkish or international students who graduated from Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation undergraduate programs abroad must obtain a recognition or equivalence certificate from the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK).• Pre-Application Form• Official Transcript (Grade Report)• Four (4) passport-size photographs• Identity document (original and photocopy)• Military Status Certificate (for male applicants)• ALES score (minimum 55 from the Quantitative (SAY) score type)• Undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA): minimum 2.30• Workplace permission letter for employed applicants (allowing two full days per week for study)Interview Process: After the pre-application period specified in the academic calendar ends, for programs that require an oral or written interview, the department will inform candidates of the date and time of the interview via the contact information provided in the application form (telephone or email).Announcement of Results and Registration: Once the evaluation process is completed, the results are announced on the university website.Candidates must finalize their registration by submitting the original application documents and photocopies to the Graduate School within the registration dates specified in the academic calendar.The registration process is completed upon payment of the required tuition/fees.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students accepted into the course may request that the courses they have successfully completed in their previously enrolled graduate programs be recognized and integrated into the curriculum by the institute before registering. This request must be submitted in the form of a petition to the director of the institute at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will commence their studies in the course. The student must include an official transcript and course syllabi along with their petition.The recognition process is conducted by a recognition committee determined by the Chair of the Department, under the decision of the Institute’s Administrative Board, in accordance with the regulations and guidelines. The course contents and ECTS credits will be considered in the recognition process. Additionally, the knowledge and skills the student has acquired from their previously enrolled program will also be evaluated to inform the decision.For students transferring to our course through inter-institutional mobility from abroad, their recognition requests will be assessed based on the compliance of the courses taken abroad with the national qualifications set for the course.
Program Educational Objectives
Was established in order to increase and deepen the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills learned during undergraduate education in line with lifelong learning principles, to learn the evidence-based scientific research and application foundations of professional knowledge and skills in the national and international arena, to gain the ability to develop original physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques with the clinical knowledge gained, to equip students with the skills to conduct inter/multi/trans-disciplinary research with other disciplines and professionals working in the field of rehabilitation and health, to teach to conduct research on professional issues, to obtain information, to present the acquired information, to disseminate the information, to develop and discuss the information obtained from professional practice and research, to bring results and experiences to national and international literature, and to contribute to the determination and development of health policies of physiotherapy undergraduates in our country.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
The program consists of midterm and final examinations. Students are required to present their student identification cards to enter the exams. The midterm exam is conducted within the semester in which a course is taught and corresponds to the content of that course. Each course will have at least one midterm exam during the semester, or assignments, projects, and similar activities conducted during the course may be utilized as a substitute for a midterm exam at the discretion of the course instructor.The final exam takes place at the end of the semester during the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible to participate in the final exams, students must have a minimum attendance rate of 70% for the classes. The final grades are determined based on various assessment criteria, including exam performance, assignments, projects, presentations, class participation, and attendance. The grading ranges established for students to be considered successful in the course are as follows:

Graduation Requirements
In order for students to graduate from the program, they must successfully complete a minimum of seven courses, including the Scientific Research Techniques course, a seminar course, and their thesis work. Additionally, they must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale and complete at least 120 ECTS credits.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Candidates who successfully complete their Master's degree may subsequently apply for and continue their studies in doctoral programs, provided they are deemed successful upon application.
