About the Program
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Antalya Bilim University was established by the decision of the Council of Higher Education in accordance with Law No. 2547 and the amendment introduced by Law No. 2880, and it started its undergraduate education in the 2021–2022 academic year.The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, operating under the Faculty of Health Sciences at Antalya Bilim University, aims to educate dietitians who meet international standards within the framework of the 21st-century understanding of health; who value creativity and individual development; who adopt lifelong learning and ethical principles; who possess safe and competent professional practice skills; and who are open to communication with different cultures in Türkiye and around the world.The language of instruction is Turkish and the duration of the program is four years. Students are admitted to this undergraduate program based on the quantitative (SAY) score type.Graduates of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics have employment opportunities in many fields. These include inpatient treatment institutions, renal care units, diabetes education centers, enteral and parenteral nutrition teams, private nutrition and diet counseling centers, mass catering systems (such as nurseries, schools, catering companies, hotel food and beverage services, and other institutions providing mass food services), the food industry, private or public institutions related to food and nutrition, maternal and child health centers, family health centers, elderly care centers, sports centers, and educational and research institutions.Graduates of the Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Program are awarded the title of “Dietitian.”
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted to the program through the national university entrance examinations organized annually by ÖSYM. Applicants are placed in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics based on their preferences and the quantitative (SAY) score type, taking into account the previous year’s base scores.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to the Faculty through central placement conducted by ÖSYM, inter-institutional transfers between domestic and international higher education institutions based on academic achievement requirements, transfers based on central placement scores, and internal transfers within the institution.Students admitted to the Faculty may request the recognition and transfer of courses they have successfully completed in previously enrolled undergraduate or associate degree programs to the Faculty’s curriculum before completing their registration. This request must be submitted through a petition addressed to the Dean’s Office at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will commence their studies. The petition must be accompanied by the original approved transcript documenting the courses completed.The course transfer and adaptation process is carried out in accordance with the principles determined by the Faculty of Health Sciences Administrative Board and the commissions assigned by it. Course contents and ECTS workload are taken into consideration during the adaptation process.
Program Educational Objectives
To educate dietitians who can assess the nutritional status of individuals and communities by using scientific knowledge and evidence-based approaches in nutrition and dietetics, and who can plan and implement appropriate interventions for nutrition-related problems.To train professionals who can effectively plan and implement nutrition therapy for the protection and promotion of health, as well as for the prevention and treatment of diseases, and who can develop appropriate nutrition programs for different life stages and disease conditions.To educate individuals who can work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams in the fields of nutritional sciences, public health nutrition, and food service systems; who adhere to ethical principles; and who possess strong communication skills and social responsibility.To graduate professionals who follow scientific developments, are capable of conducting research, possess critical and analytical thinking skills, adopt lifelong learning, and continuously improve their professional competencies.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
Examinations at the University consist of midterm examinations, final examinations, make-up examinations, exemption examinations, additional examinations, and single-course examinations. Examinations are conducted according to the schedule prepared and announced by the Faculty. Students are required to present their student identification cards in order to take the examinations. There is no resit (make-up for final) examination system at the University; however, a summer school program is available.The midterm examination is conducted during the semester in which the course is offered in the undergraduate curriculum of the Faculty. At least one midterm examination is held for each course during a semester. Assignments, projects, or similar coursework conducted within the course may, at the discretion of the course instructor, be used in place of a midterm examination. The final examination is held at the end of the semester in which the course is offered, within the dates specified in the academic calendar. In order to be eligible to take the final examination, students must fulfill the requirement of at least 70% attendance in the course.The grade ranges used to determine whether students are considered successful in a course are as follows:

Graduation Requirements
In accordance with Article 40 of the University’s Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education and Examination Regulations, a student becomes eligible to receive a bachelor’s degree from the relevant program if they successfully complete all courses in the curriculum of the program in which they are enrolled, achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and complete a minimum of 240 ECTS credits.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Graduates of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics may pursue postgraduate education after obtaining their bachelor’s degree. In order to enroll in relevant postgraduate programs, they must meet the requirements determined by the respective institutes, including minimum grade point average, foreign language proficiency, ALES score, and other examination requirements.
