About the Program
At the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkey dated April 3, 2019, the establishment of the First and Emergency Aid Program within the Vocational School was approved in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880.The objective of the program is to train allied health personnel who are capable of providing professional emergency intervention in pre-hospital emergency health services. These professionals will possess the competence to identify and resolve health problems effectively, provide basic and advanced life support to patients and the injured, and recognize and apply appropriate emergency approaches to all types of systemic trauma. Furthermore, the program aims to ensure the transport of patients and the injured to the required centers under appropriate conditions until definitive treatment is administered, thereby providing life-saving and disability-preventing medical interventions.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted to the First and Emergency Aid Program based on their preferences within the scope of the university entrance exams organized annually by ÖSYM (Assessment, Selection, and Placement Center), considering the TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) score type and the previous year's base scores.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to our program through central placement conducted by ÖSYM, as well as through inter-institutional lateral transfers based on academic success (both domestic and international), and intra-institutional or inter-institutional lateral transfers based on central placement scores.Students admitted to the First and Emergency Aid Program may request the transfer and recognition (adaptation) of courses they have successfully completed in their previous undergraduate or associate degree programs before finalizing their registration. This request must be submitted via a formal petition to the Vocational School of Health Services at the beginning of the academic year in which the student will commence their studies. Students making such a request must attach the original copy of an officially certified transcript to their petition. The adaptation process is carried out within the framework of the principles determined by the Administrative Board of the Vocational School of Health Services and its designated commissions. Course contents and ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) workloads are taken into consideration during the adaptation procedures.

Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
Exams at our university consist of midterm exams, final exams, make-up exams, exemption exams, additional exams, and single-course exams. Examinations are conducted according to the schedule prepared and announced by the Vocational School of Health Services. Presentation of student ID cards is mandatory to enter the exams. There is no resit (make-up) examination application at our university; however, a summer school program is available.A midterm exam is an assessment conducted within the semester in which a course in the associate degree curriculum of the Vocational School of Health Services is offered. At least one midterm exam is held for each course per semester; alternatively, assignments, projects, and similar activities conducted during the course may be used in place of a midterm exam at the discretion of the instructor. The final exam is conducted at the end of the semester during the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible for final exams, a minimum attendance of 70% is mandatory.The grade intervals required for students to be considered successful in a course are provided in the table below. The academic standing of our students is determined by calculating their Grade Point Average (GPA) at the end of each semester. Starting from the end of the second semester, students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 and above are considered successful, while those with a CGPA of 1.99 and below are considered academically insufficient. Students who fail a course in the curriculum must retake that course in the first semester it is offered. A student cannot qualify for graduation until all failed courses are completed, even if all other graduation requirements have been met.

Graduation Requirements
In accordance with Article 40 of our University's Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education, Training, and Examination Regulations, a student shall be entitled to receive an associate degree diploma from the relevant program provided that they successfully complete all courses within the curriculum of the program in which they are enrolled, achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and complete a total of at least 120 ECTS credits
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Graduates of the First and Emergency Aid Program have the opportunity to transfer to undergraduate programs announced by ÖSYM (Assessment, Selection, and Placement Center) through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of our First and Emergency Aid Program have employment opportunities in medical centers, ambulances, patient transport vehicles, and all private or public healthcare institutions providing emergency medical services.
