About the Program

The Construction Technologies Program aims to educate qualified technical personnel who possess the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the contemporary construction sector. With the rapid advancement of technology, the construction industry has increasingly emphasized quality, efficiency, and sustainability in both infrastructure and superstructure projects. Accordingly, the need for well-trained intermediate technical staff capable of adapting to technological developments and implementing modern construction practices has significantly increased.Antalya Bilim University seeks to meet this demand by providing high-quality education and training that integrates theoretical instruction with practical applications. The program curriculum is designed to equip students with competencies in construction materials, construction techniques, project implementation, technical drawing, cost estimation, occupational health and safety, and the supervision of construction processes.Graduates of the Construction Technologies Program are trained as competent technical staff who can effectively participate in construction site operations, support engineering and architectural teams, monitor project implementation, and contribute to the efficient management of construction activities. Through the knowledge and skills acquired during their education, graduates are expected to play an active role in improving the quality, efficiency, and technical standards of construction projects.

Admission and Registration Requirements

The composite score of students in Construction Technologies is determined and accepted based on the TYT score types used in the university entrance examinations organized annually by ÖSYM, primarily with reference to the base scores of the preceding year for preference purposes.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students are admitted to our program through the centralized placement conducted by ÖSYM, inter-institutional transfers based on the central placement score, as well as internal and external transfers between institutions and programs within the country and abroad.Students admitted to the Construction Technologies Program may request the recognition and transfer of courses they have successfully completed in previously enrolled undergraduate or associate degree programs prior to registration. Such requests must be submitted to the Vocational School at the beginning of the academic year through a formal petition detailing the relevant information. The student submitting the request is required to attach the original transcript documenting the courses completed. The credit transfer (course exemption) process is carried out in accordance with the principles determined by the Vocational School Administrative Board and the commissions appointed for this purpose. During the evaluation process, course equivalence is determined by considering course contents and ECTS workload.

Program Educational Objectives

The educational objectives of the Construction Technologies Program are designed to enable graduates to achieve success in their professional careers and occupational endeavors. Graduates acquire a solid theoretical foundation in construction materials, construction techniques, and contemporary construction practices, alongside the practical skills necessary to apply this knowledge effectively in real-world settings. They gain proficiency in monitoring construction site activities, supporting engineering and architectural teams, and planning and supervising project implementation. Moreover, graduates are prepared to uphold and enhance the quality, efficiency, and sustainability standards of construction projects. Competence in implementing occupational health and safety practices constitutes a fundamental aspect of their professional performance. The program also aims to develop graduates who can adapt to technological advancements in the industry, engage in lifelong learning, and produce innovative solutions. Through these objectives, the program ensures that its graduates are equipped with both the technical expertise and professional competencies required to excel in the construction sector.

Exams, Assessment and Evaluation

At Antalya Bilim University, examinations consist of several types, including midterm examinations, final examinations, make-up examinations, exemption examinations, additional examinations, and single-course examinations. These examinations are prepared by the Vocational School and are administered in accordance with the announced academic calendar. Students are required to present their student identification cards in order to take the examinations. Our university does not implement a resit (make-up final) examination system; however, a summer school program is available for students.Students’ academic performance is determined by calculating their grade point averages at the end of each semester. Beginning from the end of the second semester, students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 or above are considered academically successful, whereas those with a CGPA of 1.99 or below are regarded as academically insufficient. A student who successfully completes a course included in the program curriculum is not required to retake that course. Even if all other graduation requirements are fulfilled, a student cannot qualify for graduation unless all failed courses are successfully completed.A midterm examination is an assessment conducted during the semester in which the student is enrolled in a course within the associate degree curriculum of the Vocational School. At least one midterm examination is administered for each course in a semester. However, assignments, projects, or similar coursework conducted during the semester may, at the discretion of the instructor, be evaluated in place of a midterm examination.The final examination is administered at the end of the semester in which the course is offered, within the dates specified in the academic calendar. In order to be eligible to take the final examination, students must attend at least 70% of the course sessions.The letter grade ranges used to determine students’ academic performance are as follows:

Graduation Requirements

In accordance of the University’s Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education and Examination Regulations, a student is entitled to receive an associate degree diploma from the relevant program provided that all courses included in the curriculum of the registered program are successfully completed, the student achieves a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, and earns a minimum of 120 ECTS credits in total.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Graduates of the Construction Technologies Program are eligible to apply for admission to undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering and Architecture through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of the Construction Technologies Program have employment opportunities in the construction sector, particularly in infrastructure and superstructure construction sites, architectural and structural (reinforced concrete) design offices, construction materials production and marketing, ready-mix concrete plants, as well as in public institutions and financial organizations related to the construction industry.
