About the Program
The program began in the fall semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. The first graduates were awarded at the end of the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year.
Admission and Registration Requirements
Student admission to Computer Technology programs is based on the results of the previous year's TYT score types, as determined by the university entrance exams held annually by the Higher Education Council (ÖSYM).
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students are admitted to our program through the following pathways: central placement conducted by ÖSYM, inter-institutional horizontal transfer from domestic and international higher education institutions based on achievement scores, inter-institutional horizontal transfer based on central placement scores, and intra-institutional horizontal transfer.Students accepted into the Computer Technologies Program may request credit transfer for courses they have successfully completed in their previous bachelor's or associate's degree programs. This request must be made at the beginning of the academic year by submitting a written application to the Vocational School. The student applying must attach the original official transcript of their previous education to their letter of request. Equivalency procedures are evaluated by the Vocational School Management Board and the appointed committees within the framework of the relevant legislation. Course contents and ECTS credits are taken into account in equivalency evaluations.
Program Educational Objectives
The objective of the Computer Programming Program is to train technical personnel who possess the fundamental software development skills required by the IT sector, have advanced algorithmic thinking abilities, can use current programming languages and technologies, and are competent in database, web, and application development. The program also aims to equip students with problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, professional ethics, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
Exams at our university consist of midterm exams, final exams, make-up exams, exemption exams, supplementary exams, and single-course exams. Exams are prepared by the Vocational School and administered according to the published academic calendar. Students must present their student ID cards to take exams. Our university does not have a make-up exam system; instead, there is a summer school program.A midterm exam is an exam administered to evaluate students enrolled in the Vocational School's associate degree program during the relevant semester. At least one midterm exam is held per semester for each course. In addition, assignments, projects, and similar work may be evaluated in lieu of a midterm exam at the discretion of the instructor. The final exam is an exam held at the end of the semester in which the course is taught, within the dates specified in the academic calendar. To be eligible to take the final exam, students must have attended at least 70% of the classes. The evaluation criteria for students to be considered successful in their courses are outlined below.

Graduation Requirements
In accordance with Article 40 of our University's Undergraduate and Associate Degree Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations; students who have successfully completed all courses included in the curriculum of their registered program, have a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00, and have completed the minimum 120 ECTS credits required for the program are eligible to receive an associate degree from the relevant program.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs
Students who graduate from the associate degree program in Computer Programming can enroll in related bachelor's degree programs through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM) if they wish to continue their bachelor's degree education. Graduates can continue their education at a higher level by transferring to bachelor's degree programs in fields such as computer engineering, software engineering, information systems engineering, management information systems, and similar areas, depending on their academic performance and the quotas of their preferred universities.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Computer Technology Program can work in public institutions, private sector organizations, and various businesses operating in the field of information technology. Graduates have the opportunity to work in areas such as computer system installation and management, technical support, software development processes, and various fields where information technology is used.
