About the Program

The Turkish MSc Program in Business Administration aims to educate leaders and managers who can meet the needs of companies and institutions. Taking into account the increasing importance of human resources for businesses, the program seeks to equip students with the competencies required of managers and leaders in today’s global business environment, while also enabling the practical application of this knowledge. In addition, it aims to provide a strong theoretical foundation for students who intend to pursue an academic career. The Turkish MSc Program in Business Administration started admitting students in the 2021–2022 academic year.

Admission and Registration Requirements

Higher education institutions may admit students to master’s programs based solely on ALES scores; however, they may also take into consideration additional criteria such as undergraduate GPA, a written scientific assessment, and/or the results of an interview.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who have completed their final registration to the program may have the credits they earned from courses completed at another higher education institution, either domestically or abroad, transferred to the program upon the student’s application and the evaluation of the relevant department, subject to the approval of the Institute Administrative Board.

Program Educational Objectives

The objectives of the program are to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of business administration; to develop their analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making competencies; and to cultivate individuals who can adapt to the changing conditions of the business world, possess strong ethical values, and demonstrate effective leadership. In addition, the program aims to prepare students to take active roles in professional business life as well as to pursue academic careers.

Exams, Assessment and Evaluation

The examinations applied for each course and the methods of assessment are defined in the course’s ECTS form.EvaluationA+: Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding performance in the course.FX: Assigned to unsuccessful students who fail to meet attendance requirements or the course requirements. This grade is treated as an “F” in GPA calculations.W: Given to students who withdraw from a course with the advisor’s approval. This course appears on the transcript but is not included in GPA or credit calculations.I: Assigned to students who are unable to complete their requirements by the end of the term in courses based on projects, theses, or similar work, provided that their reasons are deemed valid by the relevant instructor.EX: Given to students who pass exemption examinations organized by the relevant departments for courses determined by the Senate. This grade is not included in GPA calculations but is counted toward the total credits required for graduation.U: Assigned for internships or similar activities, or for courses not included in the GPA.P: Given at the end of the first term for courses that extend over more than one semester. This grade is not included in GPA calculations.AU: Assigned to students who take a course without credit, with the written approval of the instructor, and successfully complete it. Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from this program, students are required to complete a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and achieve at least a grade of C in all courses. In addition, students must successfully complete their master’s thesis within the specified time and in accordance with the required standards. Provided that they are successful in the thesis defense and fulfill the other graduation requirements determined by the Senate, students who submit at least three bound copies of their master’s thesis to the relevant institute within one month from the date of the thesis defense, and whose thesis is approved in terms of format, are awarded a thesis-based master’s degree diploma.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Graduates who successfully complete the master’s program may apply to doctoral programs in their field of specialization or in interdisciplinary areas, provided that they obtain the required score from ALES and meet the English language proficiency requirements.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Our graduates have the opportunity to work in all types of organizations and advance to managerial positions after graduation. They can be employed in departments such as marketing, foreign trade, accounting, and human resources. Graduates of our Business Administration program can work in all sectors and fields, undertaking the essential functions required for the continuity of an organization. They may also establish their own businesses and become entrepreneurs. In addition, with the knowledge and experience gained from our research-oriented courses, they may pursue an academic career by continuing to doctoral programs or applying for positions as research assistants or lecturers.
