About the Program
The Master’s Program in Global Politics and International Relations was established on June 14, 2017. Master of Global Politics and International Relations (GPIR) is a program with thesis requirement, designed for those who seek a career path in academia, diplomacy, international organizations and international NGOs. The medium of instruction of the program is English. The program offers a wide array of courses varying from theory to methodology, from global governance and foreign policy to international civil society and migration. Located in Antalya, a key Mediterranean center with strong international appeal, our program is run by a well-trained and dynamic group of faculty members from the Department of Political Science and International Relations. The program offers the benefits of active learning in small classes, interactive candidate-supervisor relationship and a high quality research culture. Antalya Bilim University provides certain types of scholarships and financial assistance to several candidates based on merit.
Admission and Registration Requirements

Recognition of Prior Learning
Courses completed at previous institutions are assessed for equivalency with the curriculum of the Master’s Program in Global Politics and International Relations by the Head of the Department. The transfer credit process is conducted in accordance with the principles established by the departmental committee, taking into account both course content and ECTS credits.
Program Educational Objectives
Within a few years after graduation, graduates of the program are expected to: Pursue advanced academic and research careers in global politics and international relations, including doctoral studies and participation in international scholarly networks;Contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of public policy in national and international institutional settings through the application of theoretically informed and empirically grounded analytical skills;Perform effectively in professional positions within international organizations, civil society institutions, and transnational policy environments requiring interdisciplinary and globally informed expertise;Produce research-based knowledge, interpret complex global political processes, and communicate analytical insights to academic, policy, and broader public audiences.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
The principles for exams and assessment are outlined in the Antalya Bilim University Exam and Success Evaluation Directive: Evaluation methods for a course throughout the semester or academic year include midterm exams, assignments, projects, laboratory work, practical applications, and other activities. End-of-semester exams are graded on a 100-point scale. The final grade is determined by combining both the semester/year evaluations and the end-of-semester exam scores. Each evaluation component is weighted according to the contribution percentage specified in the course syllabus, which is made available before the registration renewal period. The weighted scores are then summed and rounded to the nearest whole number to calculate the final grade.To progress to the thesis stage, students must have a weighted GPA of at least 2.30 out of 4.00. To meet the graduation requirement, the GPA must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00.For Master's programs with or without a thesis, the following letter grades are considered successful: A+, A, A-, B+, B, and B-. C+ and C are "Pass"; S is "Satisfactory"; C-, D+, D, F, FX, and U are failing grades. The specified grade ranges are as follows:

Graduation Requirements
The graduation requirements for postgraduate programs are specified in the Antalya Bilim University Postgraduate Education, Training, and Examination Regulation, which was published in the Official Gazette on January 11, 2021:For thesis-based master's programs, students must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00, successfully complete the seminar course, and fulfill the thesis requirements.After passing the thesis defense and meeting all other graduation requirements, students must submit at least three bound copies of their thesis to the Institute within one month of the defense date. The thesis must meet the specified formatting guidelines. Upon request, the Graduate School Executive Board (EYK) may grant an extension of up to one additional month for submission.The thesis-based master's diploma will list the officially recognized program name (main discipline/sub-discipline) as registered with the student's department at the University. The graduation date is defined as the date when the signed, jury-approved copy of the thesis is submitted.

Degree holders can apply to doctoral programs in their fields of interest.
